Banzai - KuPS supports,
quite surprisingly, KuPS
- Kuopion Palloseura -
a football club
from
Kuopio,
Finland.
KuPS were founded in 1923 and hold the 4th
place
in all-time table of the Finnish premier
league (called Veikkausliiga
since
1991).
KuPS have played in the top flight for 54
seasons
and claimed five league (1956, 1958, 1966,
1974, 1976), two cup
(1968,
1989) and league cup (2006) titles. In addition to that KuPS have
finished second nine times
(1950, 1954, 1964, 1967, 1969, 1975, 1977, 1979, 2010), third at 1953
and
claimed
numerous junior titles.
KuPS have represented Finland eight times in European Cups:

Banzai is informal group trying to help our yellow-black team from the
stands.
During the last seasons our lads and ladettes have followed
KuPS to all official matches and
at home in Keskuskenttä
stadium you can find us from the north end of the main stand or
having
pre-
and post-match pints in pub Sataman Helmi and Paitsio.
Although Banzai was not founded until 2000
KuPS
have
had more or less active supporters'
clubs since the 70s. In addition to
our hometown Banzai has active branches at least in
Helsinki and
Jyväskylä as
well as ex-patriate members from different corners of the world
(Belgium, England, Sweden etc.).
